A type of massage therapy that that uses strong, slow, deep pressure; focusing on realigning deep layers of muscle fibre and connective tissue. It is particularly helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas of the body.

The aim of this type of massage therapy is to release chronic muscle tension and may involve treatment of one or more parts of the body.



A method of massage that works specifically on problems resulting from athletic performance, training, and/or injury.  Similar to Deep Tissue Massage but generally focuses on specific muscle groups.

Sports Massage serves to:

  • Assist the sportsperson before, during and/or after training
  • enhance athletic performance
  • reduce the risk of re-injury



This focuses on the musculoskeletal system and uses recognised techniques, specifically designed to relax muscle, such as Effleurage, Friction, Petrissage and Tapotement.

Swedish Massage serves to manipulate the soft tissue of the body, reducing muscle spasm and relieving pain, as well as having the psychological effect of either invigoration or relaxation.



A form of massage designed to aid recovery from mild to moderate injuries or conditions which are causing acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Remedial Massage serves to:

  • reduce pain
  • increase range of movement
  • restore appropriate balance
  • correct dysfunction

Generally involves Deep Tissue Massage techniques and may involve one or a combination of the following therapeutic techniques: Myofascial stripping, Neuromuscular and Muscle Energy Techniques, Trigger Point Therapy, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Stretching, Passive, Active or Resisted Movements, Joint and Spinal Mobilisation Techniques.



Kinesio Taping is a form of therapy, whereby Kinesiotape (an elastic therapeutic tape) is applied to specific areas of the body, to reduce pain and inflammation, relax overused muscles and enhance athletic performance, whilst facilitating movement. It is a non-restrictive type of taping which stays on the body for a period of time and allows full range of motion.
